A good snow is a sign of a good year, and tea in winter is an immortal. In the deep mountains of Wuling in Enshi, the tea trees that have been dormant for a whole winter in the ridges of tea fields that have been baptized and precipitated by the cold winter wake up under the gentle spring breeze in March and compete to sprout.

"It's too delicious. The tea you collected is not enough to fill your teeth." On March 11, after more than four hours of negotiation, Yuan Wei, a Zhejiang tea merchant, grabbed 250 kg of fresh leaves from the night market of the tea market in Bajiao Township, Enshi City. He drove a pickup truck to a tea processing plant 50 kilometers away and processed 100 jin of Enshi Yulu dry tea overnight.

Good mountains and good water breed good tea. In March, when walking on the land of Enshi, spring tea is fragrant everywhere. Enshi Yulu, who is kept in her purdah, is getting more and more popular

A battle for tea is staged in the mountains

After the sting, the tea tree turns green in the spring and the scenery is bright.

Spring tea, especially Mingqian tea and Yuqian tea, is of high quality in a year. There is a saying that "one or two spring tea and one or two gold".

More than 200 local tea merchants in Enshi, who have benefited from the local conditions, showed their magic powers to rush to buy tea in the tea garden. Purchasers from all over the country gather in mountain cities or drive into fields, where tea farmers pick and receive goods; Or concentrate on the tea wholesale market to compete for a larger market share.

In the evening of March 9, an all-media reporter from Hubei Daily arrived at the tea trading market in Bajiao Dong Township, Enshi City. Before 18:00, it was full of voices and lights. In the parking lot of 5000 square meters, small trucks, pickup trucks and motorcycles crowded together, and the tender tea buds piled up into green hills. In front of about 100 stalls, tea merchants were bustling with bags.

"Slow down, slow down, and pay attention to safety. The truck stops on the left, and the motorcycle rests on the right." At the gate, Yang Hongguo, a staff member of the township traffic safety office, commands loudly with a loudspeaker. "There are more than 3000 people here every night, and more than 100000 kilograms of fresh leaves are sold."

"Picking tea in the daytime, waiting for the dark to come by bike, it is more convenient to sell tea now. There is a parking place, the transaction is fair, and the price can be compared with three." Gong Houbin, a tea farmer who rushed from Nanhe Village, was sweating.

Xiang Jiawu, a tea farmer in Xiaohongyan Village who traded tea at the purchase point of Runbang Tea Company, said with a large bag of fresh leaves on his shoulder, "At dawn, our family will go to pick them. Only by picking them frequently can we earn more."

"The supply of spring tea this year is in short supply. We need to pay more than 800000 yuan in cash for purchasing more than 10000 jin of fresh leaves every day." Zhang Wenqi, chairman of Runbang Tea, came to check the market on the spot. Inheriting the unique process of tea making with modern production lines is the focus of the industry promotion of Runbang Tea. After about 10000 kg of fresh leaves enter Runbang every day, Enshi Yulu tea with the shape of pine needles, tight, thin, round and straight, and consistent length is selected by skilled workers one by one in the most advanced steamed green needle green tea production line in China after the process of steaming, rolling, dynamic drying, slinging, fine kneading, solid, and fragrant.

"Every year, plantain tea is the earliest to open. When tea farmers' rush ', customers' rush' for leaves, which is also our busiest months. Since March 6 this year, more than 10 cadres have been commanding and coordinating in the trading market every day." Liu Jing, a township cadre, said.

"Picking from the deep mountains of Enshi can be placed on containers in more than 20 cities across the country in a few days." He Yuanjun, director of Enshi Tea Office, made a calculation. "The opening price of the park rose by 30% per kilogram. The planting area of jade dew in the city was 320000 mu. The daily turnover at the peak was about 800000 to 1 million kilograms. There was no doubt that the sales of spring tea exceeded 1.5 billion yuan."

Wake up the spring on the tongue

"Look, how beautiful!" On the morning of March 9, a cup of jade dew was soaked in boiling water. The mist curls up, the fragrance overflows, and the green and bright leaves spread slowly, just like the buds blooming. Take a sip, the fragrance will refresh the spleen, and the taste will be sweet.

"The green light traverses time and space, as if to hear the sound of rain falling on the plantain outside the eaves, and spring is suddenly in sight." A sip of tea brightens the eyes of Yang Shengwei, the inheritor of Enshi Yulu National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

"Although the processing is complicated, we dare not save labor, and though the taste is expensive, we dare not reduce material resources". The ancient motto of Tongrentang is also applicable to the production process of Enshi Jade Dew. In the morning, facing the morning sun, Yang Shengwei personally demonstrated the whole process of making jade dew steamed green.

"Spreading heat dissipation, steaming green, fanning dry water vapor, stir-frying the hair, kneading, stir-frying the hair, shaping and polishing, back fire and fragrance, and picking." After the demonstration of the nine processes, the old man's white-haired forehead has seeped out fine sweat.

"The steam cyaniding process began in the Tang Dynasty, which can retain the color and fragrance of spring leaves to the greatest extent." When talking about the history of jade dew, the octogenarian was very familiar and eloquent. Steaming green tea originated from the "steaming and baking" and other processes recorded in Lu Yu's "Tea Classic" in the Tang Dynasty. However, compared with frying green tea and baking green tea, it is too cumbersome and has gradually disappeared since the Ming Dynasty. Only Enshi Jade Dew and others still retain this traditional process.

In the 1950s, the steaming process was on the verge of extinction. In 1959, Yang Shengwei, who stayed in Enshi Agricultural School as a teacher, read a lot of materials and books and visited many old tea people. After more than 10 years of exploration, the book "Enshi Jade Dew Production Technology" was published, inheriting the theoretical system of Enshi Jade Dew production technology, and standardizing the technical procedures for operation.

On March 11, 50 new students came to Yang Shengwei's studio in Enshi Vocational College to pay homage to the teacher and start the three-month study of steaming green tea. Enshi City inherits and promotes this traditional craft under the banner of Yang Shengwei. Since 2010, Enshi Vocational College has opened the specialty of tea technology and trained more than 500 students.

In September 2015, the inheritance base and museum of the national "intangible cultural heritage" project "Enshi Jade Dew Making Technology" located in Bajiao Township opened for visitors. Today, more than 500 tea farmers receive the training of Enshi Yulu steamed green tea production every year.

Carefully polish Yulu's business card

"The product is like a ship, the brand is like a sail, and the sail can sail far." In 2007, Enshi Yulu was snatched by a company in other provinces. After seven years of hard work, it finally won back this tea business card belonging to Enshi people.

The lost honor should be treasured. In recent years, Enshi has worked together to amplify the brand effect. Enshi Yulu has successively taken off two national gold-lettered signboards, namely, the protection of national geographical indication products and the well-known trademark of China. In 2018, the authoritative department assessed that the value of Enshi Yulu trademark exceeded 2 billion yuan.

Enshi City pays attention to the use management and market regulation of Enshi Yulu trademark, prevents the abuse of public brands, and strictly authorizes the use of trademarks. In March this year, only 26 of the 428 tea processing enterprises in the prefecture passed the examination and obtained the license to use the Enshi Yulu trademark.

Quality is the connotation of brand. In Bajiao Township, Grand Canyon, Liuzhou City and other places, Enshi City has promoted the green organic planting mode on a large scale. On March 10, the reporter came to a thousand-mu tea garden in Liuzhou City, Enshi City, 800 meters above sea level. The dense forest isolated the place from the world. Xiteyou, founded by Yang Huayi, a master of Tsinghua University, returned to his hometown, selected this place to carry out organic planting. It introduced natural pests, did not use pesticides and herbicides, and used sheep dung imported from Inner Mongolia as organic fertilizer. For six consecutive years, 481 pesticide residues and heavy metals in the European Union were detected to be zero. Alibaba Group has a strong preference for it and has chosen this enterprise to join the ladder plan.

On April 28, last year, Enshi Yulu and Lichuan Hong were selected for the 2018 national event tea, and the screen was brushed overnight, becoming a popular "online celebrity" across the country. On July 12, the Blue Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a global promotion activity in Hubei. With the crisp music of the chime bells ringing through the hall, He Jie, the "Selenium Girl", was lightly brushed in white and full of charm, and brewed a cup of "Enshi Jade Dew" for more than 300 guests on the table mat of the Tujia Xilan Kapu. The fragrance of tea is dense, and the sweet return is long. The unique steaming process of green tea, which began in the Tang Dynasty for thousands of years, makes people intoxicated. The foreign guests present have taken photos to leave this unforgettable memory.
